Job description
Overview

Reporting to the Deputy Head of the DAIB, the Business Manager supports our team by ensuring that all finance, commercial and office management functions are delivered in an efficient and effective way. You will have a great opportunity to identify new ways of doing business to streamline our processes, improve our outputs and make better use of our resources.

Responsibilities
  • Submitting People and Finance monthly returns to the DSA headquarters.
  • Supporting the DAIB with commercial requirements, including, but not limited to: a new transcription contract, a new investigation support contract, a new trauma screening contract, and ad hoc commercial agreements in support of DAIB activity.
  • Providing general financial support and guidance to the Branch, including acting as the DAIB’s electronic Procurement Card (ePC) and Contract Purchasing & Finance (CP&F) lead.
  • Delivering administrative actions to support DAIB personnel and DSA Service Inquiry panels, including room bookings, booking visitors onto site, and leading induction activities.
  • Supporting the DAIB with recruitment activities as required.
  • Booking travel and accommodation and organising diplomatic clearances for deploying investigators.
  • Maintaining the DAIB’s business management Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and leading the DAIB’s input into DSA SOPs, including the overseas travel and medical preparedness SOPs.
  • Developing the DAIB’s internal communications, including writing weekly orders, improving the use of Microsoft Teams across the Branch, and supporting the all-staff branch monthly meetings.
  • Assisting the Deputy Head DAIB with the tracking and management of DAIB risks.
  • Seeking ways to improve the efficiency of the administrative and business support provided to Service Inquiries and Branch investigators to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Carrying out other supplementary tasks as required by Line Management or the Head DAIB on a case-by-case basis.
