Business Development Specialist (Corporate) – full mix role with emphasis on bids and proposals in US firm with great culture.

This US firm has a sizeable business development and marketing function in London covering the EMEA region and BD is taken seriously. It also enjoys a great culture under a dyamic business development leader.

In this Business Development Specialist role, you will work in a small team that is aligned to the firm’s corporate practice group which is one of the firm’s most important practice areas. Specifically, you will work with the M&A and private equity groups with the support and collaboration of the US corporate BD team.

A large part of the role will involve working on pitches and proposals and specifically the role will involve:

  • Working on bids, pitches and proposals as well as maintaining credentials; Putting together directory, award and league table submissions; Working with the BD Manager and Senior Manager on key client and cross-selling initiatives; Conducting research on clients, competitors and industry/market trends; Tracking progress on the group’s BD plans and ensuring follow up and actions following business development meetings; Running events and seminars as well as working on sponsorships.

You will have at least three years’ experience gained in the legal sector, ideally from a large international law firm. Experience within transactional areas is highly desirable. The ability to communicate with partners and a proactive approach are also really important to this role.
