Business Development Manager
Location: Hybrid – St Albans, Hertfordshire
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 + benefits

The Role

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving growth by winning new service contracts and building long-term client relationships. Around 80% of your focus will be on recurring contract sales, with the remainder on project sales.

Responsibilities
  • Researching market trends and identifying new business opportunities
  • Generating leads and developing relationships across public and private sectors
  • Managing the full sales cycle: prospecting, proposals, negotiation, and closing
  • Preparing tailored service solutions aligned with customer needs
  • Maintaining and forecasting an accurate sales pipeline through CRM
  • Tracking KPIs and reporting on performance
  • Supporting site surveys, system design, and quotations where required
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure smooth handover and contract mobilisation
About You
  • Proven success in B2B sales, ideally within fire, security, or related industries
  • Strong commercial acumen with ability to secure high-value contracts
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Confident in pipeline management, reporting, and CRM use
