Business Development Manager Sustainability Leaders (A World 50 Community)

We are seeking a high-impact Business Development Manager within our Membership Development division for our Sustainability Leaders brand at World 50 Group. Reporting directly to the Head of Memberships this role is a premier opportunity for a commercially-driven professional to shape the future of corporate sustainability. Your success will be measured by your ability to expand our community through strategic revenue contribution directly influencing the trajectory of the worlds most influential sustainability network.

Role Responsibilities

As a key individual contributor you will drive our expansion globally inviting Fortune 500 companies into our global sustainability network. You will manage a significant high-potential territory where you will :

  • Strategise & Execute : Develop and implement a targeted business development plan to identify new member companies.
  • Target Excellence : Consistently meet and exceed individual quarterly and annual revenue and activity targets.
  • Pipeline Management : Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline providing transparent reporting on status and forecasts to leadership.
  • Territory Prioritization : Segment and prioritise your territory to maximize impact within high-growth sectors and industries facing critical ESG transitions.
  • Challenger Sales Philosophy : Teach customers new insights tailor the message to their business and confidently take control of the sale.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with Marketing Research and Product teams to align our value proposition with the specific needs of modern sustainability executives.
Key Attributes Skills and Experience
  • Proven Track Record : Minimum of 5 years of experience in a high-growth sales or commercial environment ideally within professional services or advisory.
  • C-Suite Fluency : Exceptional ability to engage and influence C-Suite executives (CSOs COOs and Boards). A passion for or knowledge of the sustainability / ESG landscape is highly desirable.
  • Membership & Community Sales : Experience selling high-value intangible products such as memberships executive education or exclusive professional communities.
  • Credibility & Impact : Strong personal presence with the ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders.
  • Commercial Acumen : Deep understanding of business drivers corporate strategy and how sustainability integrates into the broader value chain.
  • Resilience : A high degree of determination and the ability to thrive in a target-driven fast-paced environment.
  • Industry Breadth : The ability to pivot across various sectors-from heavy industry to tech-identifying the unique sustainability challenges within each.
