Job Title: Business Development Manager

Overview

At ImmuONE, our vision is to transform in vitro inhalation safety assessment by providing the best-in-class in vitro models and tailored in vitro services that most accurately predict in vivo outcomes. We have unique capabilities in the development and commercialisation of immunocompetent 2D and 3D in vitro models and assessments and work with the pharmaceutical, consumer product and chemical sectors globally to provide vital data on safety of new products and pharmacology and efficacy of new therapeutics. Our key focus is on lung toxicology and macrophage responses as well as other mucosal biological barriers (e.g. eye, oralmucosa).

We are now seeking a dynamic and results-driven business development professional to help lead and deliver our commercial growth strategy. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, presenting the company’s scientific and operational capabilities to potential clients, closing contracts and key account growth. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of the life sciences sector, particularly within contract research services, and a passion for building lasting client relationships. This role requires a minimum of 2 days in the office at Stevenage.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Development
  • Identify and pursue +£1M new business across multiple industry sectors
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities through networking, market research, and industry events
  • Collaborate with scientific and operational teams to tailor proposals and presentations to client needs
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
  • Present company capabilities, services, and value propositions to prospective clients
  • Lead client meetings, site visits, and proposal negotiations
  • Establish scientific credibility and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure satisfaction and identify upselling opportunities
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events
Market Intelligence & Reporting
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities
  • Provide regular reports and forecasts to senior management
Qualifications & Experience
  • PhD
  • Proven track record in sales within the life sciences or CRO industry
  • Strong understanding of drug discovery, chemical regulations, preclinical research, and laboratory services
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Ability and desire to travel
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Desirable
  • In vitro sales or service experience
  • Experience selling services into pharma and/or CROs
  • Full UK drivers’ licence
