Job Description:

Position: Business Analyst for Investment Desktop

Location: London / Onsite

Type: Permanent

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders, including Fund Owners, Operations & Compliance teams, and IT professionals, to elicit, document, and prioritize business requirements.
  2. Data Analysis: Analyze data to identify quality issues, anomalies, and gaps. Work with data teams to define data requirements and ensure accurate data ingestion.
  3. Domain Data Modeling: Understand the Fund owner's data, analyze data integrity, and create foundational domain data models for consumption.
  4. Functional Documentation: Understand data consumption by different personas, create detailed specifications for data use cases, and communicate business requirements to development and IT teams.
  5. Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop test plans, conduct UAT, and collaborate with testing teams to ensure data changes meet business needs.
  6. Change Management: Assist in developing strategies and training materials for smooth transition to business processes.
  7. Project Coordination: Work closely with project managers and cross-functional teams to meet milestones and resolve issues.
  8. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all data changes comply with UK regulations.
  9. Stakeholder Communication: Provide updates, communicate progress, and address concerns related to the transformation program.
  10. Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in the financial industry, preferably with Fund Management / Owner's domain.
  • Strong understanding of Capital Markets data, including reference data, market data, portfolio data, asset valuation, performance measurement, reconciliation, and compliance.
  • Familiarity with financial instruments and investment strategies is an advantage.
  • Comfortable working with Power BI and databases.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, querying languages (e.g., SQL), and data visualization.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies is a plus.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to work effectively with IT teams, stakeholders, and subject matter experts.
