Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join a dynamic Middle Office Operations team in London. This contract-to-permanent role focuses on derivatives and includes responsibilities such as supporting operational processes, documenting business requirements, and translating them into functional specifications. Ideal candidates will have strong experience with Interest Rate Swaps and Credit Default Swaps, as well as excellent communication skills. This position offers a hybrid work model with 2–3 days onsite per week.

Business Analyst – Middle Office Operations (Derivatives)

Location: London (2–3 days onsite per week)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Rolling contract-to-permanent, Inside IR35

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join a dynamic Middle Office Operations team with a strong focus on derivatives. This is a contract-to-permanent opportunity, offering exposure to critical post-trade processes, operational change initiatives, and systems enhancements in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a Business Analyst supporting Middle Office operations for derivative products.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the derivatives lifecycle, including trade capture, confirmation, settlement, collateral, and reporting.
  • Gather, document, and analyse business requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications for technology teams.
  • Support implementation, testing, and go-live activities.
  • Identify and contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst within Middle Office Operations.
  • Strong knowledge of derivatives, particularly Interest Rate Swaps (IRS) and Credit Default Swaps (CDS).
  • Solid understanding of post-trade and lifecycle events.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Immediate or short-notice availability.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience working with Aladdin and/or Murex is highly desirable.
