Job description

As part of our Transport Operations team you will work with project managers, product owners, developers, test teams and support staff to ensure that software requirements and business processes are clearly described, understood and delivered. You will devise new ways for our products to support our customers and ensure that our solutions and projects are delivered successfully.

Responsibilities
  • Engaging customers and other stakeholders to understand and document how they work, including occasional site visits when needed.
  • Documentation and modelling of business activities and data.
  • Definition and management of detailed software requirements, working within project delivery teams and responding to change requests on existing products.
  • Dissect customer tenders and prepare compelling bid responses.
  • Carry out gap analysis and describe business change activities.
  • Prepare documentation including use cases, functional designs, epics, user stories and data models.
  • Involve in customer UAT support and demonstrations.
  • Contribute to defining future product strategy and roadmaps with stakeholders, prioritising the work items accordingly.
Qualifications & Expectations

  • Communicates complex procedures to clients and colleagues effectively.
  • Builds trust with customers over time, encouraging future opportunities based on integrity and delivery record.
  • Experience in business analysis and/or a related software development field.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbally and in writing, with the ability to adapt to different audiences and levels of understanding.
  • Fluency in English (oral and written).
  • Essential: a degree or level 4–6 apprenticeship or equivalent academic qualification.
  • Desired: BCS Business Analysis Foundation certificate or equivalent professional certification, knowledge of transport operations processes and IT systems, and familiarity with SQL, Agile, Visio, Waterfall, Business Process Modelling, Requirements Gathering, User Acceptance Testing, SDLC, Systems Analysis, Data Analysis skills.
