Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Analyst to join our Business Analysis Team for an 18‑month contract to support the organisation in the delivery of its IT programmes. The role involves liaising with staff in departments, running workshops and meetings and documenting requirements. It is essential that you have extensive experience of conducting business analysis on complex IT and/or business change projects in large organisations, articulating business ideas, suggestions and problems in technology terms.

Key Responsibilities & Experience
  • Interpreting and analysing complex and disparate information
  • Establishing, developing and maintaining effective working relationships with project stakeholders
  • Successfully balancing conflicting demands
  • Support Service Managers and Architecture teams to translate business requirements to IT requirements and solutions
  • Identify interdependencies
  • Understand constraints
  • Scope and size solutions (working with Design Architects)
  • Manage, and control changes to requirements throughout the project lifecycle
  • Define and assure artefacts, such as problem statements, epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria and non‑functional requirements, to communicate business and user needs
  • Develop high level project estimates (in conjunction with the Project and Solutions teams)

  • Experience in business requirements gathering, translating business requirements into technology requirements, business cases/options appraisals
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills at all levels, including oral, written and presentation skills, influencing through information and advice
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels

  • Happy to work independently or as part of a larger project or programme team

This role offers flexibility, with a mix of home and office based working, for which an ability to build effective working relationships is essential.
