Overview

Our client, operating within the rail sector, is currently seeking a Building Surveyor (STE05) for a 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety and maintenance of various buildings and structures within the rail network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform surveys and inspections on a variety of building and structure types.
  • Lead and conduct various surveys, ensuring compliance with Network Rail standards and relevant legislation.
  • Accurately assess the condition of buildings and structures, identifying defects and recommending appropriate remedial actions.
  • Complete possession work and produce high‑quality condition assessment reports, ensuring accurate data entry into Citadel and other relevant reporting systems.
  • Input survey information accurately and promptly to meet contract Key Performance Indicators.
  • Report any immediate or significant defects to the Operations team.
  • Adhere to safe working practices and comply with Key Processes and Safety Responsibility Statements.
Job Requirements
  • Experience in building surveying, inspections, or asset management within rail or civil engineering sectors.
  • Qualified to STE05 competency.
  • Strong understanding of structural mechanics, construction types, and materials.
  • Personal Track Safety (PTS) certified.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organiser who works well as a team.
  • Excellent time keeping and time management.
  • Strong understanding of Network Rail Standards (NR/L3/CIV/006), CDM Regulations, and applicable rail infrastructure safety requirements.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Proficiency in using Citadel software is advantageous.
