Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and inspire a team of 8 staff, overseeing recruitment, training, performance, and development.
  • Drive sales growth and meet branch targets through effective commercial management.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Oversee stock control, order processing, and delivery schedules to guarantee efficient service.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, financial controls, and health & safety standards.
  • Manage cash handling and ensure accuracy in sales and reporting.
  • Maintain vehicles, machinery, and site equipment in line with legal and operational requirements.
  • Represent the branch in the local community through partnerships, sponsorships, and events.
About You
  • Proven experience in a Branch Manager, Assistant Branch Manager, or Team Leader role within the building materials, timber, or merchanting sector.
  • A natural leader with excellent communication, motivation, and organizational skills.
  • Commercially aware, with a good understanding of P&L and budgeting (training provided).
  • Competent IT user, ideally with experience of ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, BisTrack).
  • Hands‑on, proactive, and customer‑focused, with the ability to lead by example.
