We're looking for a capable Bookkeeper / Finance Assistant to help streamline our financial operations and support the business as it continues to scale.

Position Details
  • Job Title: Bookkeeper / Finance Assistant
  • Location: Holborn, London (6 minutes from Holborn station)
  • Contract Type: Permanent
  • Annual Salary: £32,000 (with potential to £34-35k OTE including performance-based bonus)
  • Working Pattern: Full Time, hybrid (3 office days per month during probation, reducing to 2 thereafter)
  • Start Date: September / October

Your Role

You\'ll take ownership of day-to-day finance processes, ensuring accuracy and supporting integration and automation projects as we improve our systems. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and sending high-frequency invoices (mid-month and month-end) across multiple vendors, services, and products.
  • Reconciling customer payments in Xero.
  • Managing direct debits and debtor accounts, chasing outstanding payments when needed.
  • Processing and reconciling supplier invoices from a wide range of vendors.
  • Handling invoice queries and resolving discrepancies.
  • Assisting with VAT returns alongside external accountants.
  • Managing contract renewals and ensuring accuracy across systems (CRM/Xero).
  • Supporting month-end finance processes and reporting.
  • Helping identify opportunities for automation and integration to streamline back-office finance.
What We\'re Looking For

We\'re seeking a candidate with the right mix of qualification, experience, and mindset:

  • AAT Level 3 minimum (with a view to completing Level 4).
  • At least 1 year\'s experience in a finance or bookkeeping role.
  • Strong eye for detail and accuracy in transactional finance.
  • Logical and process-driven, able to think outside the box.
  • Confident with Xero (preferred).
  • Intelligent, proactive, and capable of spotting ways to improve processes.
  • Positive, approachable, and collaborative - a team player who takes ownership and avoids blame culture.
Package
  • Base salary of £32,000 with the potential to earn up to £34-35k through performance-based incentives (linked to accuracy, KPIs, and quality of output).
