Salary - Competitive dependent on experience

Hours

Hours - Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week with flexible, hybrid working

Holiday

Holiday - 23 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays) increasing by one day per each year of service (up to a maximum of 5 days)

About the Bookkeeper role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Bookkeeper in our Peterborough office for TC Bulley Davey.

You will be responsible for managing day to day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients as well as reconciliations of the main control accounts, including month end reviews.

Key responsibilities of a Bookkeeper will include:
  • balancing accounts, reconciliations, reviewing client entries and advising of corrections or efficiency improvements
  • draft and submit CIS returns
  • processing sales and purchase invoices, receipts and payments
  • preparing and filing VAT returns for clients
  • communicating directly with HMRC when necessary, undertaking general administration tasks
  • providing training to clients on various packages and bookkeeping skills as required
About you

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • previous bookkeeping experience, preferably within an accountancy practice
  • ideally AAT qualified but will consider qualified by experience
  • extensive working use of Xero software
  • ability to work both independently, direct liaison with clients, as well as part of a team in both a supporting and supervising capacity
  • positive team player with a "can do" attitude
  • accurate data entry skills with excellent knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
  • analytical and problem solving skills
  • experience with Sage and Quickbooks would be advantageous
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • passionate about great service in order to provide a high level of client care
