A local organization in Ilkeston is looking for a Part-Time Bookkeeper to handle day-to-day bookkeeping duties and payroll processing. Job Title: Part-Time Bookkeeper

Location: Ilkeston, Derbyshire

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 9:30am–2:30pm; Friday, 9:30am–1:00pm (Flexible 45 hrs/day) - 30 minute unpaid lunch break

Salary: £18-£19 per hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Day-to-day bookkeeping duties
  • Weekly payroll processing (outsourced provider)
  • Calculating holiday pay and sickness entitlement
  • Managing and reconciling the purchase ledger
  • Handling banking transactions and reconciliations
  • Liaising with external payroll providers
  • Ensuring accurate financial records and reports
What We're Looking For
  • Local candidate only (this is an in-office role)
  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper
  • Experience with outsourced payroll on a weekly pay basis
  • Ability to calculate holiday pay and sickness entitlement
  • Solid understanding of purchase ledger processes
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Flexible, reliable, and able to work independently
  • Temp to Perm: This role will start as a 12-week temporary position, with a view to going permanent for the right candidate.
  • Start Date: Candidate must be available to start by 6th October 2025 to allow for training and handover with the current on-site staff member.
