Overview

We are seeking a Boiler Team Manager for a property maintenance company based in Walsham Le Willows, Rural Suffolk, approximately 20 minutes from Bury St Edmunds.

The Job

The boiler team manager plays a vital role within the overall business and is responsible for installations and boiler repairs and the management of the end‑to‑end process within each. This role covers the entire cycle from initial quotation, through successful, profitable and compliant installation, to customer care. We are seeking someone with technical knowledge, commercial understanding and a keen focus on delivering outstanding client service.

Duties
  • Lead and engage a small, but growing team
  • Work alongside other team members in the day‑to‑day delivery of the installation and repairs service
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the national network of remedial and installation engineers
  • BE accountable for profit/loss margins for all boiler installations and repairs and coherently report on a monthly basis to senior stakeholders
  • Build strong relationships with key clients in order to retain and grow on‑going work streams
  • Work collaboratively with Directors, Senior Management and other internal departments
  • Drive a commercially focused team whilst also providing an unrivalled customer experience
  • Work closely with the Sales/ Marketing team to aid in the generation of geographically targeted growth
  • Oversee and develop commercially beneficial relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders
  • Implement an engineer resourcing plan to ensure there is capability to increase growth and install capability
  • Provide ad hoc technical support and advice to other departments as required
Requirements
  • Gas engineering experience is essential, ideally with experience of boiler installations and repairs
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to operate with a hands‑on approach in an emerging team
  • An effective communicator with the ability to adapt your communication depending on the audience
  • An excellent influencer who can engage all levels both internally and externally
  • Highly organised with an eye for detail and compliance
  • Proven commercial business acumen, driven by targets to build business profitability
  • Able to assimilate market information quickly and understand its commercial implications
  • Computer literacy is required in MS Office and CRM systems and the ability to confidently navigate other software packages
