Job Specification — Boat Builder (Contract), Isle of Wight – Cowes

Location: Cowes, Isle of Wight

Contract Type: Contract

Hours: 40 hours per week

Pay Rate: £23–£25 per hour

Accommodation Support: £100 weekly contribution (subject to completing 40 hours per week)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Boat Builder to join a leading marine manufacturer on a contract basis in Cowes. This role is ideal for someone with strong craftsmanship skills and a background in building high-quality marine vessels.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out all aspects of boat building including fitting, joinery, and structural work
  • Work from technical drawings and specifications
  • Ensure work is completed to high-quality standards and within project timelines
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth workflow
  • Maintain a safe and organised work environment
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Boat Builder or Marine Technician
  • Strong skills in one or more areas: GRP/composites, fitting, joinery, or structural assembly
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • High attention to detail and craftsmanship
  • Reliability and ability to meet weekly hour targets
  • Own tools preferred but not essential
