Biomedical Equipment Technician

Location: Bolton

Our client provides a full range of clinical trial services and is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician, this role is ideal for someone with solid hands-on experience across a variety of medical equipment who is looking to broaden their technical scope. The role offers exposure to continuous improvement initiatives, direct client interaction, and opportunities to influence processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide remote technical support and guidance to clients.
  • Assist with servicing, maintenance, and calibration of medical equipment within the workshop.
  • Take ownership of proposing improvements to technical and servicing procedures.
  • Communicate medical device information, including updates to policies, guidelines, and regulations, to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Diagnose, repair, and troubleshoot malfunctioning devices.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
  • Manage inventory of spare parts and development of maintenance schedules.
What You Will Need
  • Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with medical equipment.
  • Confidence in acting as a key point of contact for clients and internal teams.
  • Good physical fitness, as the role involves workshop-based manual duties.
Desirable Experience

Experience with any of the following equipment would be highly advantageous:

  • Infusion systems (ambulatory, syringe, and volumetric infusion pumps)
  • Patient monitoring equipment
  • Diagnostic and ambulatory ECG/EKG systems, Holter monitors, and stress-test equipment
  • Ophthalmic devices
  • Centrifuges and refrigeration equipment
  • Point-of-care (POC) devices
