Why this role matters

The Bids/Client Service Coordinator is responsible for delivering exceptional client service to internal and external clients in New York. They liaise with auction and operations departments when necessary to ensure clients’ queries and issues are handled as promptly and efficiently as possible. Bid/Client Service Coordinators may also be required to assist in processing client registrations for all channels of bidding in live sales and serve as sale result entry/online clerk during sale days. They may be asked to perform Client Service duties in areas such as the Front Counter and back of house and to collaborate with Bid Department coordinators to create a seamless pre-sale/sale day experience. This position requires active listening, efficient problem-solving, strong attention to detail, and effective judgment in addressing client queries and escalating issues as appropriate.

How you\'ll make an impact
  • Take and process absentee bids, telephone bids, Christie\'s LIVE registrations, and paddle registrations as necessary
  • Handle general client (internal and external) inquiries across all communication channels as outlined in Christie’s Client Service Standards according to departmental guidelines including, but not limited to: view/auction information, sale results, Christies.com, Christie’s LIVE, and bidding
  • Provide Front of House support to greet and assist clients
  • Master duties of sale entry and Christie’s LIVE clerking
  • Represent initial stage of credit authorization and gather and monitor AML compliance information
  • Master Christie’s systems
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager
What you’ll bring to the team
  • Detail oriented with a high degree of organization and ability to multi-task, prioritize, follow up promptly, remain calm in pressured environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including superior written and spoken communication.
  • Proficiency with numbers - reading, writing, hearing.
  • Strong IT skills and ability to learn Christie’s systems including email, Client & Object System, JDE system, Live Bid Management, and website features.
  • Ability and willingness to reflect the image and standards of Christie’s in all situations
  • Strong teamwork abilities.
  • Commitment to regular and punctual attendance.
  • Flexible approach to job role and working hours (i.e. 7:30 am start time on sale days, some Saturdays, some late evenings).
  • Fluency in a foreign language preferred
