Overview

Our client, a well-established main contractor based in Warrington, are seeking an experienced Technical Bid Writer to join our construction team, playing a pivotal role in developing high-quality, compelling bids and proposals that secure new projects. The successful candidate will work closely with business development, pre-construction, and technical teams to translate complex information into clear, persuasive content tailored to client requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Write, edit, and coordinate technical and non-technical content for bids, tenders, and PQQs.
  • Interpret client specifications and requirements, ensuring submissions are fully compliant.
  • Develop win themes, storyboards, and value propositions to strengthen bids.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, project managers, and commercial teams to extract technical knowledge.
  • Ensure consistency of tone, style, and branding across all documentation.
  • Maintain and update the bid library with reusable content, case studies, and CVs.
  • Manage deadlines effectively, ensuring submissions are delivered to the highest standard on time.
  • Support presentations and interview preparations when required.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a Bid Writer within the construction or engineering sector.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, procurement, and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical information.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with Adobe InDesign desirable.
  • Knowledge of public and private sector tender processes.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
  • Degree in English, Journalism, Business, Construction Management, or a related field (desirable but not essential).
  • APMP or equivalent bid writing/proposal management accreditation advantageous.
