Overview

6 Month Fixed Term Contract £40,000 depending on experience + Pension + Private Medical + 6.6 weeks holiday + Hybrid Working 2-3 days per week in the office. Southampton, Store Support Office

What’s the job?

Improve the decisions we make by owning delivery of BI reports across functions for B&Q. The role includes managing IT delivery of changes, supporting existing processes and upskilling our user base.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and amend BI suite of reports / dashboards using established BI tools
  • Combine multiple online and offline sources to provide a holistic view
  • Identify opportunities to share best practice across banners and champion change
  • Act as a bridge between the technical teams and business needs, managing KITs delivery as required
  • Maintain & develop automated reporting
  • Support adoption - upskill customers and be the SME to advise and develop functional capability, driving a better data culture
  • Update data dictionaries for datasets and dataflows utilising common definitions, formatting and naming convention
  • 3 years proven experience or qualified to degree level (preferably in maths or similar science)
  • Competent user of query to retrieve and manipulate data
  • Expert at one or more enterprise BI tools, ideally Business Objects and/or Power BI
  • Inquisitive nature; comfortable with owning a problem through to solution
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Ability to translate data into business terms
  • Experience of advanced analysis methods and their application
  • Experience within Retail or FMCG (desirable)
