A charity organization is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to provide specialist support to children undergoing oncology treatment. This position is home-based, requiring visits in West Wales and travel to Cardiff twice monthly. Qualifications

  • Relevant Social Work Qualification is mandatory.
  • Registration with Social Care Wales required.
  • Must have Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or agree to apply for one.
  • 3 years of referencing needed.
  • Driving license with access to a car necessary.

Bereavement (charity) - Social Worker

Salary – from £39,000

Home based, but need to be available for visits in West Wales and to travel to Cardiff twice a month.

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist social work support to children receiving oncology treatment and their families, including complex assessments, psychosocial interventions, and ongoing case management.
  • Work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team, advocating for families and coordinating access to statutory, voluntary, and financial support services.
  • Manage a varied and emotionally demanding caseload, offering pre- and post-bereavement support, safeguarding expertise, and high-quality documentation.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and external agencies to ensure holistic, child-centred care and continuity across hospital and community settings.
  • Uphold the highest standards of professional practice, safeguarding, and equality, while contributing to service development and continuous improvement.
