Key Responsibilities

As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will be instrumental in creating a secure and supportive learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Applying effective de-escalation techniques to manage challenging moments and prevent disruption.

  • Implementing individual behaviour plans, helping pupils achieve their specific social and emotional goals.

  • Acting as a trusted adult, you'll provide one-on-one emotional support and guidance to pupils in need.

  • Working hand-in-hand with teachers and other staff to maintain a cohesive and consistent approach.

  • Meticulously logging incidents and providing timely, detailed feedback on pupil progress.

Requirements

To succeed in this position, you must possess:

  • A proven background in working with young people who exhibit challenging behaviour in an educational or youth setting.

  • An Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for a new one).

  • The legal right to work in the UK without any restrictions.

  • Training in techniques such as Team Teach, MAPA, or similar is highly desirable.

  • A naturally patient, calm, and resilient approach.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly.

  • A deep passion for helping pupils' emotional and social development.
