We are recruiting a firm, reliable, and consistent Behaviour Mentor for a specialist alternative provision in Rotherham (S62), ideal for someone who thrives in structured, Social, Emotional, and Mental Health-SEMH focused environments.

About the Role:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will provide direct, hands-on behaviour support, guide pupils through daily routines, and use a clear, no-nonsense approach to keep them focused and grounded. You'll build trust through consistency, reinforce expectations, and help students develop self-discipline, resilience, and positive habits.

Key Responsibilities as Behaviour Mentor:
  • Behaviour Support: Use strong, steady strategies to manage behaviour and keep students regulated.
  • Routine Leadership: Reinforce structure, expectations, and boundaries throughout the school day.
  • Intervention Delivery: Lead practical, targeted interventions that build emotional control and focus.
  • Relationship Building: Form clear, dependable relationships built on respect and consistency.
  • Progress Monitoring: Record behavioural progress and provide straightforward updates to senior staff.
  • Professional Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, leaders, and external services to ensure aligned behaviour standards.
To succeed as a Behaviour Mentor, you will need:
  • Experience in SEMH, alternative provision, behaviour support, or similar structured settings.
  • A calm, controlled approach with strong presence and decisive communication.
  • Confidence managing challenging behaviour with authority, clarity, and consistency.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to act quickly and logically under pressure.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through us.
