Are you a caring and compassionate person that would like to gain experience in a school setting? Are you an Early Years Practitioner with a knowledge of SEN and would like to transition into schools? Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) that is committed to supporting children with SEN and additional needs?

We are currently seeking a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support children in a fantastic and supportive SEN school in Southwark. As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will be working with and supporting children, most of which have an EHCP, on a 1:1, small group or general classroom basis.

If you have personal experience of SEN or Mental Health or have built experience via a qualification, or through your own volunteering and paid work, this role will really help build on your experience.

As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) you will:

  • Help pupils access curriculum through your dedicated support
  • Create and help with resources
  • Raise attainment of the students
  • Support the needs of students with SEND
  • Work alongside and learn from the teaching team
  • Adapt your support style dependant on the students' needs

As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) you will have:

  • DBS on the update service or willing to get one
  • Prior experience with children - experience of supporting children with SEN needs would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management is desirable but not essential
  • Creativity and Innovation
  • The ability to build relationships
