An international offshore heavyweight is looking for an experienced finance lawyer for its Cayman Islands team. If you crave a complete change of scene but are wary about compromising your career, this could be your answer.

Joining an impressive team of ex-City/international firm lawyers, you will quickly see that the quality here compares with any top-tier onshore firm. The practice spans the full range of finance work but tends to have a particular focus on acquisition, leveraged and funds finance as well as more general structured finance/debt capital markets work. Once you know the ropes you will be encouraged to take a lead role, getting hands‑on experience and enabling you to build your network of contacts in the market. It’s an ideal environment for someone who enjoys a varied and fast‑paced practice and who thrives in a client facing role.

Requirements

  • Overseas qualified lawyers must be admitted in the UK or an equivalent Commonwealth jurisdiction (such as Australia, New Zealand or Canada).
  • Likely to suit someone with 3-6 years’ PQE (minimum 3 years’ PQE required for work permit).
  • Experience of high‑value finance work is essential, but the firm is happy to consider finance generalists or those with more targeted finance expertise in one of the core areas.

Package

  • Attractive tax‑free salary (expected to be in the range of USD160k-220k depending on experience).
  • Comprehensive benefits and bonus.
  • Relocation package (flights + temporary accommodation on arrival + expenses allowance).

Process

  • Interviews will take place by videoconference.
  • Start dates typically around 3-6 months later (depending on your notice period).
  • Our clients provide comprehensive assistance with visas and relocation.

The Cayman Islands

A world‑class international financial centre, Grand Cayman offers lawyers the opportunity to do high‑quality and complex work that compares favourably with that in a leading onshore law firm. Outside of work, the climate lends itself to an outdoors lifestyle whether that be diving, sailing, relaxing on the beach or enjoying a bite to eat at a waterfront restaurant. Life here is good; rarely does anyone regret making the move.
