Bank Senior Audiologist

The closing date is 10 February 2026

We are looking to recruit dynamic and enthusiastic Audiologists to join the NHS Bank Staff Team for Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Audiologists. The bank worker would be expected to undertake a wide range audiological investigations, which may be of a specialist nature on adults, children and babies.

Additionally, to plan and deliver complex audiological and rehabilitative treatments on adult patients who have hearing impairments and that may have complex additional needs such as patients who have mental health problems, disabilities and tinnitus.

Candidates should be registered/eligible for registration with the RCCP or The Academy of Healthcare Science.

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This means Speaking & Listening at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2). We don't need fluency. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. For more information, see the 'Croeso Candidate' booklet below.

Main duties of the job
  • Hearing aid fitting and verification to fit digital hearing aids and perform real ear measurements on school age children with a high degree of accuracy and dexterity.
  • See direct access paediatric assessment where medical involvement is not required.
  • Perform ear examinations.
  • Complete outcome measures or other quality of life questionnaires.

Qualifications and Knowledge
  • BSc (Hons) Audiology from an accredited University or possess equivalent qualifications, skills and knowledge. Be registered with an appropriate registration body. In depth knowledge and experience of assessment techniques and rehabilitation programmes. In depth knowledge of assessment, diagnosis and rehabilitation. Knowledge and skills of assessment tools relevant to audiological diagnosis.
  • Knowledge of Paediatric and Adult standards.
Skills and Attributes
  • Ability to communicate clearly with hearing impaired people of all ages and their families. Skills in assessment and rehabilitation of patients with deafness. Diagnostic skills. Ability to work alone. Computer literate. Welsh Speaker (Level 1) or willingness to work towards achieving this level.
