Job summary

A community support organization in Bath is looking for a Bank Project Worker to provide vital support to customers with mental health needs. This role involves encouraging independence, conducting risk assessments, and facilitating group activities for recovery. The ideal candidate will have experience in mental health and a compassionate approach. Opportunities for training and development are available.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with adults with mental health needs.
  • Lived experience of using mental health services is a plus.
  • Ability to develop and maintain support plans.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft packages and internet communications.
  • Willingness to work toward NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.

Responsibilities

  • Promote safety with risk assessments and reviewing needs.
  • Regularly assess needs and update support plans.
  • Develop professional relationships and maintain privacy and dignity.

Education

Role

The role of Bank Project Worker will include:

  • Providing support to encourage our customers with mental health needs to maximise their own potential and independence
  • Supporting progress towards independence in managing positive mental health
  • Offering one-to-one support as required
  • Promoting safety by undertaking risk assessments and reviewing customers’ needs
  • Regularly assessing the needs of customers, writing, and updating support plans
  • Developing professional relationships with customers, using appropriate and clear communication to ensure their personal choice, privacy and dignity is maintained
  • Delivery of small group activities to promote recovery and well-being
Skills and experiences
  • Previous experience of working with adults with mental health needs
  • You may have lived experience of using mental health services and will have the knowledge and understanding the ability to relate and empathise with people with mental health issues
  • Ability to support people in crisis
  • Ability to work effectively in highly pressured situations
  • Experience with developing and maintaining accurate records and support plans
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft packages and internet communications
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or willing to work towards is desirable
