Bank Operating Department Practitioners

We are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic Bank Operating Department Practitioners to join our Anaesthetic team in Main Theatres. We welcome applications from experienced practitioners. We offer a supportive, exciting and challenging work environment.

Our Main Theatre Suite comprises of nine Theatres and one Recovery Unit; one of our theatres is a dedicated obstetric theatre and two of our theatres are modern, integrated laparoscopic theatres.

The team also provides skilled anaesthetic assistance in other areas such as CT, MRI, Accident & Emergency, also supporting level 3 transfers to other unit as part of the hospital resuscitation team.

The successful candidates would be expected to participate in a rota system that provides 24 hour care, including weekends and public holidays.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will provide clinical support within the anaesthetic team, ensuring effective support for colleagues to plan, monitor and evaluate skills in the delivery of appropriate care for perioperative patients.

Providing a quality service with responsibility for patient safety and standards of care, ensuring the provision of evidence-based care by being a role model providing specialist knowledge within theatre practice.

This post has been identified as involving access to vulnerable adults and /or children and in line with Trust Policy; successful applicants will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS Check.

Please note, applications will only be considered from registered ODP's or registered Nurses with an approved UK anaesthetic qualification, or student ODP's nearing qualification.
