We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank EDIC Clinical Coordinator to join our Primary Care team at HMP Pentonville, a category B remand prison located in London. Pentonville has a large pharmacy where the medications are dispensed on the wings.

Hours

8-4 pm – Monday to Friday
Occasional shifts on Saturdays

Salary

Full‑time position, with an annual salary of £25.14 per hour. Depending on experience, the hourly rate can reach £27.14.

Candidates must have a legal right to work in the UK. Offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure patients have medical plans of care, assess patients and carry out relevant clinical investigations during their arrival, and arrange follow‑up appointments while offering advice and information.
  • Evaluate and ensure the safe transfer of patients to acute hospitals when needed, and ensure that care plans are understood by the patient and the prison.
  • Support audits and governance activities.
  • Provide on‑site healthcare, including emergency care such as suturing and dressing, and perform primary care functions across the prison.
  • Lead a team of healthcare practitioners, including specialists, to deliver an effective and safe medical service within the prison.

Qualifications Required

  • Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP and national standards
  • Understanding of audit and Datix

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
