Bank Catering Assistant at New Elmcroft

Salary : £12.90 per hour

Hours : Bank - Zero hours

Shift Times : As / when needed in the service - shifts vary between 8am-6pm

Shaw healthcare is looking for a Bank Catering Assistant who is ready to make a positive impact at New Elmcroft, a bright, spacious 60 en-suite bedded care home which opened in 2008 and is located in a quiet residential setting in Shoreham by Sea, close to Brighton and Worthing.

Job Responsibilities

You will work under the direction of the Cook to work together as a Catering Team to ensure that delicious home cooked meals are prepared and services to the Residents. This will include, but not limited to :

  • Assist chef with food preparation
  • Independently prepare hot meals / sandwiches for residents
  • Load and unload dishwasher, wash up equipment unsuitable for dishwasher
  • Clean kitchen and equipment
  • Collect and distribute crockery from / to the care floors
  • Clear tea trolleys where applicable
  • Empty kitchen rubbish and keep areas clear of refuse
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic environment
  • Carry out reasonable requests, as instructed by the Senior Chef / Chef
  • Ensure that the nutritional needs of residents are met
  • Ensure compliance with the Health & Safety Policy and Regulations
