Responsibilities

Role: Locum Dispensary Pharmacy Technician
Banding: Band 6
Location: Westcliff-on-Sea
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Full time, Monday- Friday, 09:00am-17:30pm
Rate: £23 - £29 per hour

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 6 Pharmacist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive ward-based clinical pharmacy services, including dispensary cover, discharge medication management, outpatient services, homecare prescription screening, and dispensary cover checking. This role is essential in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications and contributing to high‑quality patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for providing ward-based clinical pharmacy services, covering the dispensary, managing discharge medications, and screening homecare prescriptions. You will also support outpatient services and perform dispensary cover checking. Your role will involve collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to optimise patient care and participating in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience/Knowledge:
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPHC) as a pharmacy technician.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ post‑registration NHS hospital pharmacy experience.
  • Experienced ACT (Accredited Checking Technician) technician with medicines management training will be considered.
  • Experience in clinical pharmacy services
  • Skills/Abilities:
