Job summary

A large steel stock holder is seeking a Saw Operator/Cutter to operate cutting machinery including Band Saws and CNC Cutters. The role involves reading engineering drawings, cutting materials to specifications, and maintaining safety standards. This is a permanent role with the option to choose preferred shifts. Competitive pay rate and allowances for late shifts are offered.

Overview

Role - Saw Operator/Cutter

Location - Bradford

2 shifts available, either - 6am - 2.30pm or 11am- 9pm Mon - Fri. Permanent role. basic rate £#removed#

Working for a large steel stock holder which supply components to shipping, MOD, Heavy industry.

We are looking for someone with experience operating Cutting machinery such as Band Saws and CNC Cutters.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, cutting lists, and job sheets to determine material requirements.
• Accurately cut raw materials - Various heavy metals to specified sizes and tolerances.
• Operate and maintain cutting machinery and tools (e.g., saws, presses, cutters, CNC cutting equipment depending on department).
• Carry out quality checks to ensure materials meet required standards before moving to the next production stage.
• Follow health and safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing better ways of working where possible.
• Keep work area organised and tidy.
