Job Title:Band 8A Specialist Clinical Psychologist – Adult Acute
Grade:Band 8A
Location:London, Greater London
Working Hours: 38.5 hours per week
Rate:Competitive — details to be discussed upon application

We are seeking a highly experienced Band 8A Specialist Clinical Psychologist to join our NHS client in London, Greater London. This locum opportunity is available for an immediate start on a short-term contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist psychological input within adult acute inpatient wards
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and develop tailored treatment plans
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions to support recovery and wellbeing
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated care
  • Contribute to service development and clinical supervision where appropriate
  • Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation

Qualifications & Experience

  • HCPC registration (essential)
  • Significant experience working in adult acute mental health settings
  • Proven expertise in inpatient psychological care and ward-based interventions
  • Strong assessment, formulation, and therapeutic skills
  • Previous experience in a Band 8A Clinical Psychology role
