Job description

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to join the Learning Disability CAMHS service covering Bristol and South Glos. We are a creative and innovative service dedicated to delivering best practice to our service users. This post holder will hold qualifications in Positive Behaviour Support,

Must be a qualified Nurse, Psychologist or other health and social care professional with additional training in PBS.

This is advertised as a full-time post for 37.5 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

• To provide specialist Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) services for children and young people with Learning Disability and behaviours that challenge.
• The post holder will deliver direct assessment/intervention services to children and their carers referred to the service.
• The post holder will work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team and be professionally accountable to the service lead for their practice and conduct.
• Provision of specialist advice, consultation and training for other professionals, teams and agencies involved in the care of children with learning disabilities.
• Propose changes in service developments, guidelines, protocols and projects relevant to children with learning disabilities in consultation with the service lead.
• Undertake or support research and audit relevant to this area of healthcare.
• Provision of teaching, as required, to other staff from other agencies.
