Overview

The post holder will undertake 6‑9 month rotations across adult oncology / haematology, aseptics and paediatric oncology, coordinating direct patient care at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital (RACH) and Royal Sussex County Hospital (RSCU).

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient care delivery for paediatric and adult oncology patients.
  • Support the Lead Pharmacist in developing, evaluating and coordinating clinical pharmacy services.
  • Contribute to clinical governance: clinical risk, audit, education and teaching.
  • Authorise chemotherapy prescriptions on the Chemocare® prescribing system and assist in procedure and guideline writing.
Qualifications
  • Band 6 pharmacist with a minimum of 6 months hospital experience or working towards a postgraduate certificate.
  • Desire to rotate through adult and paediatric oncology with technical services training provided.
  • Strong communication, teamwork and managerial potential to progress to advanced oncology pharmacist roles.
