Overview

Band 7 Pharmacist - Oncology (NHS Experience Required) – Location: Southend-On-Sea, Essex. Contract: Locum. Rate: £312 per day. Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:30. Start ASAP. Duration: Three months initially, with view to extend.

About the Role

As a key member of our oncology pharmacy team, you will:

  • Provide expert clinical pharmacy input to oncology and haematology services.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to optimise patient outcomes.
  • Support the safe prescribing, preparation, and administration of systemic anti-cancer therapies (SACT).
  • Lead on clinical governance, audits, and service improvement initiatives within oncology.
  • Act as a mentor for junior pharmacists and contribute to staff development.
About You

We are seeking a pharmacist who can hit the ground running in a busy oncology setting. You must have:

  • NHS oncology pharmacy experience
  • Proven experience with ChemoCare prescribing system
  • Completed SACT Passport (mandatory)
  • Strong clinical knowledge of systemic anti-cancer therapies
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills
  • GPHC Registration
