Band 7 Macmillan Health and Wellbeing Service Manager

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Macmillan Cancer Health and Wellbeing Manager (formerly known as Macmillan cancer information and support manager) at BHRUT. This part‑time role is an integral part of the Personalised Cancer Care Team (PCC) within the Trust’s oncology department, which serves a population of approximately 750,000. The PCC provides personalised care and support for patients living with a cancer diagnosis from diagnosis and throughout the patient's pathway.

You will be responsible for leading on the provision of excellent cancer information and support, continuing the established health and wellbeing sessions for cancer patients and their families or carers, and providing line management for the complementary therapy service and welfare and benefits officer.

Main duties of the job
  • Lead the continuous development of the Macmillan Health and Wellbeing Service within the Personalised Cancer Care team.
  • Develop, manage and lead the Macmillan information and support/PCC service.
  • Support the delivery of personalised cancer care by providing Trust‑wide guidance of the Macmillan personalised cancer care programme, focusing on holistic needs assessment (HNA) offered by the PCC nurse and support workers.
  • Develop, deliver and lead a range of health and wellbeing sessions and information in various formats – written, virtual, one‑to‑one and group.
  • Oversee the quality of cancer information produced in‑house by the oncology and haematology teams.
  • Line‑manage the PCC nurse, complementary therapy team, benefits advisor and data coordinator.
