Job Title: Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP)

Location: Southmead Hospital

Contract Type: Full time - Temporary

Salary: £20.00 - £30.00 hourly

Shifts: Flexible (days, evenings, weekends), block bookings, and your choice of shifts.

We have opportunities for experienced Emergency Nurse Practitioners (ENP) role in Southmead Hospital. Join Medas Healthcare as a locum Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) and benefit from our huge NHS client portfolio throughout the UK. We are keen to speak with Emergency Nurse Practitioners (ENP) who are educated to an advanced level of practice and can confidently assess, treat, and diagnose patients as well as carry out clinical decision making autonomously. Independent prescribing qualification and assessment and treatment of Minor Injury qualification is preferred but please talk to our team for more information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Assessment and Treatment: Conducting initial patient assessments, diagnosing conditions, and providing appropriate treatment for minor injuries and illnesses.
  • Autonomous Practice: Exercising clinical autonomy in decision-making, including ordering and interpreting investigations, and initiating treatment or referral.
  • Discharge Planning and Referrals: Ensuring effective discharge planning, including providing advice and support to patients, and referring patients to other services when necessary.
  • Patient and Family Communication: Communicating effectively with patients, their families, and other members of the multidisciplinary team regarding patient care and management.
  • Documentation: Maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient records.
  • Education and Mentorship: Providing education and support to junior staff and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Clinical Governance: Ensuring that all clinical practice adheres to relevant guidelines and standards.
  • Quality Improvement: Contributing to quality improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Leadership and Teamwork: Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing to service development, and potentially leading or coordinating specific projects or initiatives.

Professional Development: Maintaining and updating their own clinical knowledge and skills.

Essential Qualifications
  • NMC Registration.
  • UK Right to work.
  • Masters level education in Advanced Practice or post graduate qualification/ RCN accreditation.
  • Recognised prescribing qualification (V300).
  • Demonstrated experience of working autonomously.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Level 7 assessment skills.
