Main duties of the job
  • Supervision and day to day management of rotational pharmacist and other pharmacy trainees within the Cancer Services Team.
  • Optimise medicines management and pharmaceutical care within Cancer Services for day case and inpatient settings.
  • Provide expert advice to medical and nursing staff on legal and professional matters relating to safe, economic and effective drug use. Effectively ensure that SACT is used appropriately within the relevant financial framework.
  • Assist in planning and implementing clinical pharmacy service developments and other medicines related change.
  • To ensure aseptically prepared medicines are made according to the standards set out in Rules and Guidance for Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Distributors and Quality Assurance of Aseptic Preparation Services and ensure that activities are carried out in accordance with the latest MHRA advice.

Qualifications
  • Professional Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Masters Degree in Pharmacy or UK recognised equivalent.
Experience
  • NHS experience is Essential.
  • Experience within Aseptic/Oncology is Essential.
