Overview

You will be joining us at an exciting time of the planning and implementation of community transformation. The role requires working autonomously in providing high quality assessments, reviews, treatment interventions, clinical advice and expertise to the wider MDT in supporting service users with severe and enduring mental illness. The Clinical Lead will work across the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) and support the team managers in effective operation of the team by undertaking practice and professional lead responsibility for specified areas of care delivery. You will be responsible for providing additional leadership and guidance to team members in risk assessment, risk management and positive problem solving and lead on debriefs following incidents. You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of effective clinical pathways between CMHT and other services. You will take a leadership role to positively influence and improve the quality of clinical practice by providing support, supervision, educational and professional development opportunities for staff within the CMHT. You will develop confidence and competence within the team for managing complex clinical cases and issues, and take a lead role in the provision of clinical leadership and caseload supervision to the team. You will be expected to act as a positive role model in promoting clinical excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high quality assessments, reviews, treatment interventions, clinical advice and expertise to the wider CMHT and support service users with severe and enduring mental illness.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members in risk assessment, risk management and positive problem solving; lead debriefs following incidents.
  • Undertake practice and professional lead responsibility for specified areas of care delivery and support the team managers in effective operation of the CMHT.
  • Develop and maintain effective clinical pathways between CMHT and other services.
  • Influence and improve the quality of clinical practice by providing support, supervision, education and professional development opportunities for CMHT staff.
  • Develop confidence and competence within the team for managing complex clinical cases and issues.
  • Provide clinical leadership and caseload supervision; act as a positive role model to promote clinical excellence.

You will also be required to sign up to the DBS Update Service before commencement with the Trust. The Trust will reimburse this. You will be contractually obliged to maintain your subscription.

All successful applicants will be required to complete the Trust's induction programme. The Fundamental (Statutory and Mandatory) training will be in an e-learning format. You will be required to complete training modules online (approximately 9-14 hours depending on post) by the end of your second week with us.
