Job summary

A leading mental health organization in Birmingham seeks a Band 7 Clinical Lead to provide high-quality assessments and treatment interventions in a Community Mental Health Team. Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Clinical Lead within Zinnia CMHT. You will be joining us at an exciting time of planning and implementing Community transformation. The role requires working autonomously to provide high quality assessments, reviews, treatment interventions, clinical advice and expertise to the wider MDT in supporting service users with severe and enduring mental illness. You will lead on leadership and guidance to team members in risk assessment, risk management and positive problem solving, and lead on debriefs following incidents.

The Clinical Lead will work across the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) and support the team managers in effective operation by taking professional lead responsibility for specified areas of care delivery. You will develop and maintain effective clinical pathways between CMHT and other services, and take a leadership role to influence and improve the quality of clinical practice by providing support, supervision, educational and professional development opportunities for staff within the CMHT. You will develop confidence and competence within the team for managing complex clinical cases and issues, and lead on clinical leadership and caseload supervision, acting as a positive role model in promoting clinical excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high quality assessments, reviews, treatment interventions, clinical advice and expertise to the wider MDT for service users with severe and enduring mental illness.
  • Lead on risk assessment, risk management and positive problem solving; conduct debriefs following incidents.
  • Work across CMHT and support team managers to ensure effective operation and lead on specified areas of care delivery.
  • Develop and maintain effective clinical pathways between CMHT and other services.
  • Provide clinical leadership, supervision, education and professional development opportunities for CMHT staff.
  • Develop team confidence and competence in managing complex clinical cases and issues.
  • Provide caseload supervision and act as a positive role model to promote clinical excellence.
Essential and Desirable Qualifications / Experience
  • Registered professional / evidence of post registration experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional Development
  • Significant leadership experience with proven supervision of staff
  • Evidence of improving service quality
  • Experience at Band 6 level or above within CMHT or equivalent mental health setting
  • Experience leading on audit and/or research related to clinical practice (Desirable)
