The successful candidate will be expected to

  • Maintain a professional behaviour at all times and promote a positiveimage of Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust at all times, in linewith World Class Care values.Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Professional Conduct and Scope for Expanded Practices for Nurses,Midwives and Health VisitorsTo ensure accurate and comprehensive nursing records are maintainedusing appropriate written and electronic documentationTo undertake all nursing procedures in accordance with trust policies andensure that these procedures and policies are understood and adheredto by all staff, within own management responsibility.To provide a continuing supportive service within the breast screeningunits and facilitate optimum health care for those who have or fear theymay have a breast cancer.The post holder is responsible for the management of a caseload withinthe defined client group, including liaison where appropriate with otheragencies and the provision of specialist advice to those involved indelivering care to this group.The post holder will work alongside the Director of Screening, Consultant,Radiologists, Consultant Surgeons, Histopathologists, Clinical Nurses,Specialists and other members of the multidisciplinary team to providepatient focused care within the screening service.Identify a patient's physical, social and psychological needs that requiredreferral to other agencies.
Main duties of the job

  • In a clinical background, with experience and knowledge of treating Breast Cancer /breast disease and breast screening clients.
  • A first level degree or working towards this.
  • A specialist qualification in advanced breast care practice
  • Counselling Skills training and experience
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • The ability to priorities, work independently as well as within a team.
