We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Band 6 Psychiatric Liaison Nurse to join the team at one of the major mental health trusts in London. In this vital role, you will provide expert mental health assessments, crisis intervention, and care planning for patients within acute hospital settings. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will ensure that patients receive timely and effective mental health care, integrating both physical and mental health support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Use clinical judgment and risk assessments to ensure the safety of the people using our services.
  • Safeguard individuals by recognizing and responding when an adult or child might be at risk from abuse, understanding your limits, and seeking help or escalating concerns when necessary.
  • Escalate safety concerns and act as effective advocates for those who use our services.
  • Be open and transparent about your own practice.
  • Supervise the work of others.
  • Reflect on daily practice to identify areas for improvement in safety or quality.
  • Work with others to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate, legible, and comprehensive records.
  • Stay compliant with mandatory training requirements.
Experience
  • Registered Nurse - Mental Health / Learning Disability.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mental health practice from previous experience.
  • Effective risk assessment and risk management experience.
  • Knowledge of counseling skills, cognitive behavioral skills, psychosocial interventions, and brief solution-focused therapy.
  • Experience in delivering clinical interventions.
  • Experience working in a team delivering person-centered treatment packages.
