Job Title:

  • Band 6 Biomedical Scientist – Haematology/Coagulation

Job Purpose:

  • To provide high-quality haematology and coagulation diagnostic services within a busy laboratory setting
  • To support accurate and timely testing that contributes directly to patient diagnosis and treatment
  • To work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team while maintaining professional and clinical standards

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and specialised haematology and coagulation testing using Sysmex XN and Stago analysers
  • Accurately assess and report blood film morphology
  • Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines, laboratory protocols, and HCPC standards
  • Maintain clear, accurate, and timely documentation of test results
  • Communicate results effectively with medical and clinical staff
  • Participate in internal quality control and external quality assurance programmes
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, efficient, and high-quality laboratory environment
