What you will do

• Lead as the clinical expert within CICC and ESD for stroke and related conditions involving communication or swallow disorders.
• Conduct specialist assessments, diagnoses, and management for patients with communication and swallowing difficulties post-stroke and from other medical conditions.
• Mentor rehabilitation assistants and less experienced speech and language therapists.
• Stay updated with innovative assessment and treatment practices, encouraging the team to adopt new methods.
• Develop and deliver training programmes for the Dysphagia Trained Nurse programme.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Prioritise and manage your own clinical caseload independently.
• Use clinical assessments to facilitate patient consent discussions.
• Implement individual care plans following best practices.
• Evaluate clinical effectiveness using outcome measures like Care Aims.
• Customize patient interactions, considering cultural, educational, and physical needs.
• Ensure smooth transitions of patient care and maintain accurate case notes in line with professional standards.
