Band 6/7 Specialist Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and committed candidate to apply for this Band 7 post, or a Band 6 developmental post with the opportunity to become a Band 7 within a supported structure. Responsibilities would be adjusted accordingly. The move to a Band 7 post would be upon completion of required competencies as agreed and reviewed with managers.

Leicester Partnership NHS Trust is now a large provider of Community Health, Mental Health and Learning Disability services, serving a population of approximately 1 million people across Leicester City, Leicestershire and Rutland.

We are advertising for a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist to join our large team of Psychological Professions, working in a strong multi-disciplinary setting delivering services for young people and their families / carers in Leicestershire.

We are a large multi-disciplinary service of over 200 professional staff. Our CAMHS service is comprehensive and, in addition to the City and County Outpatient teams, has specialist teams for inpatient adolescent services, learning disabilities, primary mental health services, children and young people with eating disorders, Crisis services, looked after and adopted children, young offenders and homeless children and paediatric psychology.

Main duties of the job

To work as a Specialist Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist as part of psychological therapy and psychology services within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and care pathways.

To provide a comprehensive, highly specialist cognitive behavioural psychotherapy service to young people with complex problems for which CBT is evidenced to be clinically effective.This includes working with children and adolescents who may present with severe and treatment resistant disorders with co-existing conditions.

To use a broad theoretical knowledge base to provide specialist cognitive behavioural assessments and formulations that inform highly skilled CBT interventions.

To work as a highly skilled autonomous practitioner, managing a caseload under clinical and case management supervision. To offer consultation and guidance to other mental health professionals, other treatment pathways and community colleagues.

To contribute to the ongoing development of CBT practice taking into account advances in treatment, theory and research.

This post requires in-person attendance at clinics, meetings, assessments and liaison with other professionals, which could include attending MDT meetings, for example Strat meetings, child in need and more. The team can offer some hybrid working, this would be in accordance with LPT's flexible working agreement.
