Job description
Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner to join the Recovery team at Prince Charles Hospital. You will be part of a team of experienced nurses within the Scheduled Care Division, delivering a high standard of patient care and working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance to Health Care Support Workers, Student Nurses, and ODP students.
  • Liaise with the Theatre Multidisciplinary team.
  • Cover the department during weekends and participate in on‑call commitments as specified.
  • Support the immediate post‑operative care of HDU patients within the theatre recovery setting.
Qualifications and Eligibility
  • Band 5 Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner qualification.
  • Welsh speaking & listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above are desirable but not essential.
  • Applicants who are not UK or Republic of Ireland nationals require sponsorship for a Health and Care Visa or a Skilled Worker Visa unless they already have permission to work via another route.

About the Team and Location

The recovery unit is part of our theatre department, comprising five main and two day surgery operating rooms. Located in the heart of South Wales, the team serves patients across Cardiff, Newport, Swansea and surrounding areas, providing compassionate care and support within a diverse and inclusive environment.
