Overview

Honeycomb are delighted to be working with The Arches Medical Centre on the Holywood Road to Recruit for a Band 4 Medical Secretary.

Band 4 Secretary The Arches Holywood

Location: The Arches Medical Centre, Holywood Road, Belfast
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Hourly Rate: £13.57
Contract Type: Temporary (Ongoing)

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to clinical and managerial staff.
  • Handle correspondence, audio typing, and appointment scheduling.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and documentation.
  • Deal with telephone and face-to-face enquiries in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external agencies as required.
Essential Criteria
  • 5 GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent), including English and Maths.
  • Previous experience in a similar secretarial or administrative role (ideally within a healthcare setting).
  • Excellent typing and IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Experience using healthcare systems (e.g., PAS, EMIS, or equivalent).
