University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated individual to join the Hot Hand clinic. This role requires a compassionate approach and commitment to providing excellent patient care.

Responsibilities include assisting with the smooth running of a busy hand injury clinic and working with healthcare professionals to provide seamless expert care. You will be an integral part of the supportive team, contributing to a positive patient experience. There will be valuable opportunities to expand your knowledge and develop your skills.
Duties include setting up the clinic for the day, ensuring areas are well stocked, maintaining stock levels and ordering required stock. During the clinic period, the successful applicant will assist doctors in the procedure room while minor operations are performed and assist with completing dressings. This role will also include cleaning the procedure room after use and preparing for the next patient.
Additionally, there are two exam rooms that doctors use and need healthcare staff to accompany them during assessment and procedures. The successful applicant will participate in holistic patient care by taking bloods, cannulating, measuring BMs and performing ECGs. Arranging follow‑up for patients is also part of your daily role. Joining the duty consultant on daily ward rounds is an important part of this role, and the ability to change dressing on ward rounds is a must. The monitoring of flow through the clinic and the ability to communicate within the team is vital; communication with other departments linked to Hot Hands provides seamless care for our patients.
