A governmental organization in the United Kingdom is looking for a Bailiff. This dynamic role requires dealing with individuals in various circumstances, necessitating excellent communication and customer service skills. We understand that this role will not suit everyone, but if you like a dynamic job that has different challenges each day, a bailiff role may suit you. The Bailiff role in HMCTS currently attracts an allowance of £2,000 per annum. Standard full-time working hours are 37 hours per week. HMCTS welcomes part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns, provided they meet the demands of the role and are agreed upon prior to appointment.
Successful candidates will be required to work outside of office premises, visiting people at their homes and businesses. Candidates must be able to plan their days, adapt to changing circumstances and maintain professional courtesy under emotionally charged situations. A full UK driving licence is required for probationary or lease car drivers. Fuel allowances, full PPE and safety training will be provided. Candidates must be comfortable using IT and court case management systems.
From 22 July 2025 the Government increased the skill level for Skilled Worker visas. Applicants who do not meet this new threshold or who have not held a Skilled Worker visa continuously since before 22 July 2025 will need to consider alternative routes to work in the UK. All successful applicants must maintain the legal right to live and work in the United Kingdom.
All employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in an office, subject to local estate capacity. Hybrid working will be discussed and agreed with successful candidates and reviewed regularly.
Interviews will be held in person and are expected to take place on the week commencing 2 February 2026. Virtual interviews will only be considered in exceptional circumstances.
